Law student acquires Fort Greene 5BD for $1.38M

Medium c4c08592f7e6027a579eba4facdc0a76 Peter Barker-Huelster and Allison Freedman Weisberg bought a five-bedroom, three-bath townhome at 242 Cumberland St. in Fort Greene from David Munoz and Brenna Smith for $1.38 million on May 17.

Smith paid $1.21 million for the property in April 2011. The 3,200-square-foot townhome was built in 1899 in the Fort Greene Historic District.

Barker-Huelster is a fellow at the New York law office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates. He is a third year student at the New York University School of Law. He previously worked at The Museum of Modern Art.

He received his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College.

Weisberg is the founder and executive director of Recess Art, a not-for-profit arts organization in Palisades. She previously worked at The Museum of Modern Art.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 89 home sales in Fort Greene during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $675,000.
