Architecture critic at the New Yorker for over 30 years owned this house

Author Lewis Mumford owned this house in 1938. From childhood on, Mumford walked, sketched, and observed New York City. He was architectural critic for the New Yorker magazine 30-plus years. Mumford's 1961 book, "The City in History," won the National Book Award. He passed away in 1990.
