Brooklyn's first congresswoman owned this house

Congresswoman, Edna Flannery Kelly, owned this house in 1967. She served Congress from 1949 to 1968 and was the first woman to represent Brooklyn. Kelly was succeeded in 1968 by Shirley Chisolm, Brooklyn's first black representative. A foreign policy expert, Kelly wrote legislation that helped create the Peace Corps. She passed away in 1997.
