Cress Creek in Naperville offered both "heavily wooded" and "lake view" lots, according to an ad by Smykal Associates in the April 7, 1979 Chicago Tribune.
Included in Smykal's homes in the subdivision were sod and seeded lawn, blacktop driveway, central air conditioning, humidifier, carpeting, basement, and storm windows and screens. Homes were priced from $122,900 (including lot).
The subdivision had taken a while to develop. Smykal's Old English model was featured in the August 14, 1971. The home featured four bedrooms, dishwasher, garbage disposal and island countertops. It was priced at $51,750; many of the sites bordered the Cress Creek Country Club.
