The home of Charles Walgreen III
by BlockShopper Historian published Sep. 28, 2009
The grandson of the drug store chain has owned this home for some time. Charles Walgreen III took over the store in the early 1970s, after his father, Charles R. Walgreen Jr. ran the company through most of the middle of the century. Under the leadership of Walgreen III, the company went through many modern changes, such as switching to a computer inventory based system. He retired in 1999.
