Michael Feighan was a Democratic Congressman from Ohio in 1961 when he owned this house. He served 14 terms and was the architect of the 1965 immigration act that abolished the system of quotas by national origin. The legislation cancelled a quota system that allowed more immigrants from northern and western Europe than from other parts of the world. His father was a former owner of the Cleveland Indians and his nephew was a member of Congress from 1983 to 1993. Michael Feighan passed away in 1992.
