Joe Palooka and Rex Morgan M.D. comic strip artist Tony DiPreta owned this house from 1963 until he passed away in 2004. He worked on Joe Palooka from 1959 to 1984 when the strip ended and Rex Morgan M.D. from 1969 to 2000 when he retired. Rex Morgan M.D. is currently published in more than 300 U.S. and 14 foreign newspapers. DiPreta also completed five life-sized mosaics for Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Stamford, Connecticut. The mosaics took DiPreta more than five years to complete. In 2007 he received the Legend Award posthumously from the Connecticut Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society for consistently outstanding career achievements.
