Former CONOCO chairman and prominent Houston philanthropist owned this house

Former chairman of the Continental Oil Company (CONOCO), Leonard F. McCollum, owned this house. When McCollum became president of CONOCO in 1947 the company had assets of $209 million and a net income of $31 million. When McCollum retired from CONOCO in 1972 as chairman, the company had assets of $2.3 billion and a net income of $203 million. He was a prominent Houston philanthropist and served as chairman of the Baylor College of Medicine for 14-years. Mcollum passed away in 1993.
