Congressional Space Medal of Honor awardee, Captain William Shepherd, owned this house. He has logged over 160 days in space and is a veteran of four space flights. Shepherd was commander of Expedition I, the first crew on the International Space Station. A Navy SEAL, Shepherd was selected for the NASA astronaut corps in 1984.
