Composer, songwriter, and pianist Cy Coleman lived in this building in 1967. Known for his up-tempo style, Coleman was an accomplished jazz pianist. For over 50 years Coleman wrote music for Broadway shows. He collaborated with Neil Simon on several hit productions. Coleman was nominated for 19 Tony Award's and won four. He also won three Emmy Award's and two Grammy Award's. Coleman passed away in 2004.
