Astronomer who introduced millions to space lived in this building
by BlockShopper Historian published Mar. 15, 2010
Dr. Robert Jastrow lived in this building in 1967. He was an astronomer and physicist who was very gregarious and media savvy in an era when scientists were notoriously a reserved and introverted group. Dr. Jastrow's frequent television appearances and his best selling 1967 book, "Red Giants and White Dwarfs," are credited with making space more understandable to millions of people. He passed away in 2008.
