Chemist vital to development of the atomic bomb owned this house

Chemist Philip Abelson owned this house in 1967. He proposed the diffusion process to seperate uranium-253 and uranium-238. This process was vital to the development of the atomic bomb. Abelson also co-discovered the element neptunium. Neptunium-237 is used in neutron-detection equipment. Abelson was awarded the Natonal Medal of Science and the Public Welfare Medal, the National Academy of Science's highest honor. He passed away in 2004.
