Governor Rendell's home
by BlockShopper Historian published Aug. 03, 2009
Former Philadelphia mayor and current Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell has owned this home since 1980, back when Rendell was the District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia. The democrat took over as the 96th mayor of Philadelphia from 1992 to 2000 and chaired the Democratic National Committee from 1999-2001. Despite not having the backing of the state democratic party, he won the 2002 gubernatorial election handily defeating republican Mike Fisher. He was briefly rumored to be John Kerry's running mate during the 2004 presidential election.
