One of the most prolific batters of his generation, Japan-born Ichiro Suzuki came to the United States in 2000 to join the Seattle Mariners. In 2001, he became the first player since Jackie Robinson to lead the league in batting average and stolen bases. He was also the first Japanese everyday position player in Major League Baseball. He has a career .333 batting average.
