The house was owned by The Father of the Riverwalk
by Preston Vaan Horne published Oct. 24, 2015
This house was owned by Robert H.H. Human and his wife Martha while he was working on the Riverwalk.
Mr. Hugman caught Maury Maverick (mayor of S.A.1940) embezzling materials from Riverwalk for his own project and when he reported it, Maurie fired him.
Mr. Hugman had invested 10 years of his life in the project at that time. His wife became distraught and committed suicide in the house. She asphyxiated herself with gas. A little San Antonio history for you courtesy of ghostsofsanantonio.com
