James McTague was president of the Maryland Hotel Co. and the McTague Catering Co. in 1912 when he owned this house. He was general manager of the St. Louis Catering Co., a consolidation of St. Louis restaurants from 1902 to 1904. McTague later opened his own restaurant before becoming president of the Maryland Hotel Co. and the St. Louis Catering Co.
