Suffragist and peace advocate Carrie Chapman Catt owned this house valued at $80,000 in 1930 according to the U.S. census. She founded the League of Women Voters in 1920. One of the most prominent female leaders of all-time, Chapman-Catt focused her attention to anti-war and peace movement activities when she lived in this house. She passed away in 1947.
